Targeted Advertising for Video On Demand

The Channel Islands DIVA (Digital Video Advertising) system provides operators with the ability to provide targeted advertising with their VOD content. DIVA for VOD utilizes a dedicated RTSP proxy server that sits between the STB and the operators VOD server. All RTSP requests received from the STB are intercepted by the DIVA for VOD proxy server. Based on the customer profile associated with the STB, the most relevant advertising will be delivered to the STB.

Diva for VOD supports both pre-roll as well as post-roll targeted advertising. Even interstitial advertising can be inserted at selected event points within the VOD asset. This allows the operator to use various revenue models, such as offering VOD movies for free with pre/post and interstitial advertising embedded in the movie, or a reduced VOD rental price if a limited number of ads (pre, post or interstitial)
